Rain, Rain, Go Away

Yes, Folks, we are feelling soggy effects of the hurricane season. Our little town is in the state of Vera Cruz, 2 hours inland, and we have had almost nonstop rain for 3 or 4 days now. "Sunny Mexico" hmmph! Dick has been to Tapachula, Chiapas, years past, where there is severe flooding. A priest who arrived (very late) to a meeting of the exorcism team yesterday said the roads down from up in the mountains are terrible. Lots of mud- and rockslides.

Our town is hilly and the torrential rain just keeps running downhill. Where it ends up,I'm not sure. Now, any suggestions for getting our clothes washed and dried? I'm still reluctant to string clotheslines up in the living room, although it's starting to look like a good answer.
