Typical Morning in Provincial Mexico
Good Morning! Things got started (naturally) with the rooster's announcement and delivery of his news. Then the gurgle of the coffeepot and the clip-clop of a fine horse ridden bareback on the back street. It's still early, a tap on the door, a young woman looking for the priest to arrange her father's funeral. I show her where to tap on his window if he doesn't answer the door yet.
Then- wonder of wonders!- the plastering expert arrives as promised and we arrange to get the spider filled ceilings replastered. Hooray! At last we are ready to take the Jeep to the bus stop and go on with morning duties in town. Oh oh, because of the parish celebrations, the front exit is not usable (carnival) so we head for the side gate. OHOH, it's locked, go ask Father for the key. He has no key, the "Fiscal" the man in charge of all physical care of the parish, has the key and has gone to work. Now what? Call the hospital and explain through the administrator's giggles, why I'll be late. And this was my first day back after ofer two weeks absense.
I'll let you know later if we ever get out of the gate today. To be continued...
