But I WASHED That Shirt!

Dedicated laundresses would go berserk here this time of year. Just when you get all the laundry washed (often by hand), rinsed, wrung out, hung in the sun to bleach and dry, you turn around and greasy black flecks floating in the air or blown hither and yon by the breeze, have settled on your laundry. And under the doors, and through the windows,EVERYWHERE!

You just finished mopping the floors (best done daily whether in the dust season or the mud season.) Sure 'nuff, there are the black flecks, like diabolical little critters, appearing just where they shouldn't.

The patio you so carefully hosed down last night: covered in black particles this morning.

Well, the astute reader will inquire, WHAT IS IT? Ahh... like your desserts? A little suger in your coffee? A spoonful on your cereal? Well, this is what happens to create sugar: When ready for harvest, the fields of tall green stalks, waving in the wind, are burned off, to kill snakes and other critters living there and make it safe to go in and cut. The soot then floats merrily through the air, for miles and miles, looking for MY laundry to make a landing. There you have today's tale of missionary hardships. Stay tuned.
