NO processions today
Well, at least not here. Almost everyone in the diocese who can move has gone toMexico City for the yearly pilgrimage to the Basilica of Guadalupe. We stayed home to continue recovering from various ailments. (we are.)
And since everyone else in the church office and rectory here where we live has also gone, we were the only ones a very sad family could find when they came looking for a priest to anoint their 20 year old brother, Cristian. He had just gotten his motorcycle license today, and now he is dying in the emergency room of the government hospital. Hit on the road. Well, permanent deacons still can't administer the Sacrament of the Sick but we prayed with them right on our porch as the rain fell and fell and fell. And the tears. Pray for that family as you read this.
