Wet, Very Wet

Take a nice sunny day, add clouds, stir until dark. Open the faucet and let water run like crazy. Aftr a few hours, turn off faucet. Wait for sun to reappear. Birds singing gaily may be a hint.

This is God's recipe for the rainy season here.

While all this is going on, folks pretty much continue normal life. A man carrying two-by-fours: no hat, jacket or umbrella. Folks gathered under overhangs or doorways, chatting in clumps; motorcycles and bicyclists pulled over, also chatting in sociable groups. A neighbor, in his patio, under an extra-wide sombrero, trying to keep the barrel fire going that he cooks meals on for his motherless children. After finishing essential errands, we are holed up inside, reading and blogging.
